Why Stay Here
L’Exil Lodges Overview
Designed to give you the best of what nature has to offer, L’Exil Lodges are the only place where you can stay near a waterfall, an endemic forest and a valley at the same time - a magnificent scenery and stay awaits.
Nested in the heart of an indigenous forest, L’Exil provides a different style of accommodation rather than the typical, crowded settings. The bedrooms have an open view on the endemic forest and some of them even have a scenic view of the beautiful waterfall. Ideal for honeymooners and nature lovers, L'Exil Lodges is unlike any other lodge or place, once you step in, you will be brought back to the roots- surrounded by natural lush forest, where you will feel in harmony with nature.
Benefits of staying at L’Exil Lodges
Situated in the south of Mauritius, more precisely in Riviere des Anguilles, you will not only appreciate the atmosphere but will also be delighted at the selection of activities offered. Guests who would like to connect with nature can take a walk into the forest itself. As part of this package you will also benefit from a free hike to Leon Falls. You will also have the chance to take a refreshing plunge at the ‘Cascade Leon’ which is a 20 meter waterfall in the middle of pristine nature.
Otherwise, guests looking for a bit more of a thrilling adventure can opt for the popular quad biking activity. You’ll be able to enjoy an exciting ride on a quad bike, explore and discover the southern part of Mauritius, with some routes bringing you to the cliffs of Gris Gris and Rochester Falls.
The lodges also offer delicious meals at the onsite restaurant and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. While enjoying the local cuisine, the open terrace facing the Bois Sec forest, also gives you a panoramic view of the nature reserve and waterfall.
The fireplace is perfect for a friendly gathering in the evenings, especially after a day trekking in the forest or quad biking. Superb. Liked · Great location in the middle of the forest. Its really a great opportunity to spend some time in the middle of the nature. Staff was more than welcoming and friendly, smiling all the time and assisting you with all support needed. I definitely recommend the food. WOW.. AMAZING.. don't miss the opportunity to have dinners taken with them cause they are really more than experts in preparing a fantastic meal plan. Disliked · Pay attention to mosquitoes cause there are plenty there. Its not an unusual thing, since you are in the middle of the forest. We were however prepared, had a mosquito repellent with us that did its magic, so had no issues because of that.
Very good. Liked · Beautiful surrounding immersed in nature. The waterfall was stunning. We are both vegan and they were really accomodating to meet our needs. The service was also excellent. Disliked · The road to the property was rather treacherous. We travelled by motorbike and it was a bumpy ride.
Remote lodges with stunning view at waterfall. Liked · When you finally get there, the location of the place is super remote. So better have a proper car like pickup since you are going to drive around 20 min into the nature. The lodges are located on the hill, kind of in the middle of nowhere, with a beautiful view at the waterfall and forests around. You can hike even to waterfall yourself. Friendly staff. Disliked · worth to consider mosquito nets in the windows, since there is no AC in the rooms and it gets super hot in the night road to go to the lodges should be improves, since we were scared to break the small car that we rented (our bad).
A very quiet place in the middle of the nature and with very friendly, attentive staffs and Chefs !! Liked · The very friendly staffs, the very good food made by attentive and friendly Chefs, the nature and the originality of the room with the view on the nature side. The room was also very clean, quiet with a comfortable bed, a big bathroom and shower and with a very big central windows with view on the nature side (kind of a fixed television with the channel nature always on ;o) Disliked · I was missing a chair in the room to be able to use my computer. The staffs were very quick to give me one but it would have been nice to have one already without needed to ask for one. The idea of a view on the nature from the room is very great but maybe the trees and bushes in front of the windows could be taken care of in order to have an even more better view.
A place I would like to spend longer weekends or holidays again. Liked · My friend and I liked almost everything about L'Exil lodges:the location, waterfall view from the room, the room itself, the decor, the food and of course the wonderful staff right from the reception to the kitchen..All of them were friendly and caring. We were well received. Disliked · I can't remember of anything that I didn't like at L'Exil lodges. All I remember is that it was an exquisite experience and I enjoyed every bit of it.Being sportive made things easy or rather perfect as my main aim was to be very much there and make the best of what L'Exil lodges could provide us.????
