Enjoy an exquisite 3-Course Set Menu in the Chateau’s dining room. The chef has carefully curated the menu, so you can expect top tier dishes, boasting of exquisite ingredients and flavours. Start your meal with an appetising Palm Heart Salad with Tropical Fruits, Smoked Marlin and Citrus. For those who wish to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of Mauritius, Le Chateau de Bel Ombre is the perfect place to do so. With an enchanting former sugar plantation backdrop and set in typical French Gardens, Le Chateau de Bel Ombre invites you to embark on a journey through time.
Awarded for its high gastronomy, Le Chateau de Bel Ombre believes in combining farm-to-fork dining with locavorism and even uses some of the produce sourced from the estate.
As for the table-setting, six tables are set up in the first sitting area and the Chef’s dining room welcomes up to twelve seats for an authentic Mauritian meal along with a selection of exclusive wines sourced from the world's top vineyards. Let the Maitre d’O welcome you on the verandah, and extend your evening in the lounge and piano-bar.

A stay on the Domaine de Bel Ombre will be incomplete without a visit to this beautiful place. There is a totally different feel to visiting Le Chateau and it's grounds - although on a much smaller scale it reminds me of Chateau de Versailles. The restaurant offers one of the best cuisines and is one of our favourite places in terms of gourmet dining in Mauritius

Delightful experience
We had a great time dining here. The Chateau is a beautifully restored colonial building in the South of the Island, located in a lush garden full of amazing trees dating from centuries, tropical birds and fruit bats in the evening. The building and garden are well worth a visit, just before dinner. The service was charming and efficient, and the gourmet food was exquisitely prepared and accompanied by a well chosen wine assortment. We dined outside on the terrace, enjoying the night view on the the garden grounds with the old trees reflecting the delicate light. A truly wonderful evening.

Wonderful food a real feast for the eye as well as palate all served on the veranda of a Chateau. One is made to feel very welcome and special by the attentive staff. A short buggy journey from the hotel which is easily arranged by Reception. A great reason to ‘dress up’ a little....
