Mauritians, welcome to Catherine Island – an islet bordering the emerald-green lagoon on the west coast of Rodrigues.
The trip departs close from Port Mathurin on a pirogue. Along the way to the Island, you will also get the chance to fish with the fishing line available on board. Once you arrive on the Island, the choice is yours! Let time pass by in a sweet languor, putting aside all the stress and worries of the usual busy life and appreciate the discovery of Ile Catherine.
During your time on Ile Catherine, you can choose to swim in the lagoon or have a tour around the island, visiting key places like the slaves’ tomb. If you wish to snorkel onsite, we suggest bringing along your own equipment. At around noon, a delicious BBQ lunch will be served on the beach.
At around 16:00 Pm,you will be back to Port Mathurin.

About Ile Catherine
Ile Catherine is part of the 18 islets of Rodrigues which are sheltered by the vast lagoon. It is rocky and wild, offering a magnificent view of the Western coast from its peak.
The Island has an elevation of -9999 meters above sea level is completely deserted. There, you can relax and take pleasure in this peaceful environment together with the sweet chirping of birds, and the melodious crashing of the waves, or the buzzing of the cool sea breeze. Nothing seems to be able to disturb the peace of the place. Sometimes you may see the few fishermen who come to the island, looking for shelter at times to rest.
