*IMPORTANT NOTE:
- The participants have to buy the ingredients needed for the dish they will be cooking. Eureka House will provide ONLY oil, salt and ginger garlic paste for the cooking class
- Minimum number of participants needed for the class is 10
- The participants will be divided into teams of 5 and assigned to prepare a specific dish. Shopping list will be provided accordingly when booking is confirmed
Reservation
- A valid Mauritian National Identity Card or resident permit should be presented upon arrival
- This Package is non refundable. For no shows a 100% cancellation fee will apply. No refund will be given
- Reservation: Required 48 hours in advance by phone & subject to availability

Cooking fans, aspiring chefs or even if you’re just looking for a fun experience in the kitchen, we have the perfect package for you!
Eureka House is well known for its Mauritian Cuisine and now is the perfect time for you to learn more about it! After your welcome drink, you will be directed to the backyard where you will be split into a team of 5 participants and the cooking class will happen. Under the experienced eyes of the chef, with your team, you will learn how to cook some typical Mauritian dishes! Eureka House focuses on the fun while cooking so drinks and snacks will be offered during the cooking class.
After the cooking class, the fun continues on the terrace with a delicious Creole 3-course Lunch featuring a tasty dry beef curry with a pumpkin fricasse and peanuts rougaille. End your meal with some ice cream accompanied by grilled coconut.
After your lunch, you will be free to roam around to stroll and discover the waterfalls and lush greenery of Le Ravin.

Located at Moka, the heart of Mauritius, Eureka or La Maison Creole not only opens its doors for us to live through the history of our country. The restaurant, with its purely Mauritian menu, enables you to travel back in time when aristocrats would be dining in the same setting.
Over the years, the restaurant has strived to produce dishes which represent the diversity of our Mauritian nation. As such, the restaurant menu offers several dishes which are a mix of the different cultures of our island.
The beautiful garden invites you to taste a nice Mauritian tea (vanilla, mint, lemon). The shops found in the compounds of the property allows you to buy local flavoured tea.

If you're venturing to the North forget Port Louis and head straight to Moka. The mansion has definitely seen better days, but with very few colonial buildings around, you really appreciate a glimpse into that period of the island's history. Stay at the shady veranda for lunch cooked in a traditional old school kitchen and eat reasonably priced local dishes. A walk to the waterfalls was a bonus.

An interesting place with Great food This is a cross between a very relaxed restaurant and a museum. Inside the building you have rooms with colonial furniture and fittings, and the building itself is a monument to the island's history. I dined on the rear veranda and the food was very pleasant, and not too fussy. The meal was enhanced by two gents on guitar and singing, which was actually brilliant. They also have a small souvenir shop. If you have a few hours spare, it's well worth a visit.

We spent like a day at Eureka House, visited the garden and had lunch there. There is the opportunity for a little hike towards the waterfalls. Beautiful property, yummy food and excellent service. recommended!

Mauritius is a must see island. Right in the centre is Eureka House. This is a wooden colonial structure in original condition and more or less with original furnishings. A member of the owning family lives there and talks to visitors in the gardens. It's been well reviewed in TripAdvisor so there's not a lot to add - except to mention the restaurant. The food is amazing, really inexpensive with first class service. We're going back next year for another chat with the resident (who has much to say about Mauritius under the lid), and another dry beef curry.
