Cancellation policy for Activities, Spa & Hotel Day Packages

Cancellation by Customer

If, for any reason, you decide to cancel your confirmed booking, Deals.mu will refund you the appropriate amount as per the cancellation policy applicable. Accordingly, do note that in some cases when cancellation your confirmed booking, you would be charged a cancellation fee and more details on the cancellation terms, fees and procedures are detailed as part of the Deals.mu cancellation policy elaborated on this page.

Please note that following our customer oriented booking system which offers multiple order options of either ordering an open voucher or ordering a product for a specific date, Deals.mu charges different cancellation fees according to the order option chosen by you and its status (if the product has been already reserved for a specific date or not):

For the avoidance of doubt, the term ‘product’ as used in these terms and conditions refers to vouchers purchased directly from the Deals.mu and include monetary vouchers, activities vouchers, spa treatment vouchers and hotel day package vouchers.

Cancellation of a product booked as Open Voucher / Gift Card:

Please note that in case a customer would like to cancel an Open Voucher / Gift Card before the product was reserved for a specific date, then the customer will only be charged with a cancellation fee of 10% of the total booking amount.

Cancellation of a product reserved for a specific date:

This option refers to cases in which a product has been booked and reserved by the customer for a specific date, including:

  • Cancellation of a product which has been reserved for a specific date as part of the initial order process
  • Cancellation of an open voucher / gift card after it was used by the customer to reserve a product for a specific date

In both these cases, cancellation charges apply according to the table here below:

Please note:

  • Notice of cancellation will only be effective when it is received by E-mail sent to Deals.mu: info@deals.mu.
  • Reserved date or time for the product = the specific date or time for which the customer is supposed to go on the activity/attractions/service/day package/spa according to the reservation made by him/her.
  • These cancellation charges are calculated as a percentage of the total order amount for the product the customer would like to cancel.
  • The date of which we receive the customer’s written notification of cancellation is the date we will use in order to calculate the appropriate cancellation charge.
  • No refund is available once a tour, activity, attractions, package or service has commenced, or in respect of any package, spa treatment, meal or any other services has already utilized.
  • In case a product is cancelled due to bad weather conditions, we guarantee to all of our customers a Full Refund. However, if the product is operational, rain or shine, and the customers decide not to go, the customer will be charged for the last minute cancellation.
  • In case of a “No Show” or in case a customer is arriving late to an activity, the tour will leave on time and the client will be charged for a last minute cancellation (100% cancellation charge).
  • Entrance tickets to Museums, national parks, Mauritius Aquarium, Botanical garden, Curious corner and tickets for special events, are non-refundable in all circumstances.
  • Where the cancellation charge is shown as a percentage, this is calculated on the basis of the total amount payable by the customer for the cancelled product.
  • If any member of your party is prevented from travelling, that person may transfer their place to someone else. In case the order/booking was made under the name of the person who is prevented from travelling, you must inform Deals.mu as soon as possible about this change and provide the name of the other person who will use the product (so we can change the order on his name).

Cancellation by Deals.mu

In the unlikely event of the cancellation of an activity, tour, excursion, attraction, package trip, hotel package, spa package by Deals.mu, we will:

  • Propose an equivalent product and/or package to the client.
  • If the client chooses to refuse that option, then Deals.mu shall provide 100% full money refund to the customer in the total amount paid by the customer to Deals.mu for the product which has been cancelled. In case an activity is cancelled due to bad weather, then, Deals.mu is not liable to provide the client with a refund for the taxi fair/travelling or fuel cost or to cover any other charge (except for processing a full refund of the direct amount paid for the activity).

The only exception to the above would be cases of force majeure or as a result of unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control.

Note:

  • The above stated Cancellation close is applicable ONLY in case the product has been cancelled by Deals.mu taking into consideration of no amendment done from the client side on the original booking.
  • Refunds: All refunds will only be made using the original form of payment. For example, if you registered using a Visa card, any refund will be credited back to that same Visa card.

Cancellation of a product for which there was a change in date and time:

In case a booking has been confirmed for a specific date or time, and later, as per the client’s request, the booking was changed to a different date or time, which afterwards gets cancelled by Deals.mu or by the client for any reason, Deals.mu may charge the client the cancellation fee according to the original date or time of the booking made.

For example, for a product which was originally booked for March 15th, and on March 14th (the day before), the client did contact Deals.mu, informing Deals.mu that they will not be able or do not wish to use the product on March 15th and requesting to postpone the booking to March 20th; Deals.mu changed the booking accordingly. Then, on the day itself the product gets cancelled due to weather conditions. In such case, Deals.mu may charge the client a cancellation fee as per the original change in the original booking, meaning as per the 1-day cancellation, resulting in a 100% cancellation charge.

Cancellation policy for Restaurants Deals

Once a customer’s reservation is confirmed, a restaurant is setting aside a table especially for the him/her [our customers]. Furthermore, in many cases, after receiving your table booking, the restaurant will purchase the required ingredients for the preparation of your meal as well as start the initial preparation work making sure they can serve you the meal you have ordered in the best way possible.

With that, we understand that plans can change. If a customer needs to change or cancel his/her reservation, please follow the guidelines and cancellation policy below to avoid being charged a late cancellation or missed reservation fee.

If a customer needs to change a reservation

Please send us an email us at info@deals.mu minimum 26 hours in advance [during weekends, please call on our hotline (230) 52 575757 as well. In these cases our first priority is to discuss with the restaurant for making changes to your reservation based on availability and actual possibility on the restaurant side. Restaurants cannot always accommodate changes, but from our side, we shall do our best to take care of you.

Cancellation by Customer

Cancellation of a restaurant deal booked as Open Voucher / Gift Card:

Please note that in case a customer would like to cancel an Open Voucher / Gift Card before the Restaurant deal was reserved for a specific date, then the customer will only be charged with a cancellation fee of 10% of the total amount of the voucher (this is to cover our booking processing fees and handling costs).

Late cancellations and missed reservations

Late cancellations and missed reservations result in direct damage to our restaurant partners, so we strongly encourage our customers to cancel/reschedule their reservation well in advance to allow the restaurants as much notice as possible for such cancellation

In such cases, cancellation charges apply according to the table here below:

Please note:

  • Notice of cancellation will only be effective when it is received by E-mail sent to Deals.mu: info@deals.mu.
  • Reserved date or time for the Restaurant deal = the specific date or time for which the customer is supposed to go on for the booked meal. This can be breakfast, lunch, dinner or any other restaurant package, according to the reservation made by the customer
  • These cancellation charges are calculated as a percentage of the total order amount for the Restaurant deal the customer would like to cancel.
  • The date of which we receive the customer’s written notification of cancellation is the date we will use in order to calculate the appropriate cancellation charge.
  • No refund is available once a restaurant deal has commenced, or in respect of any package, spa treatment, drinks, meal or any other service has already been utilized.
  • If a client does not arrive for his/her reservation and does not cancel in advance, it is considered as a "missed reservation," and the client will be charged 100% for a last minute cancellation.
  • To maintain a high level of service for all restaurants, accounts with multiple late cancellations and missed reservations may be suspended.

Cancellation by Deals.mu

In the unlikely event, a booked Restaurant deal is cancelled by the restaurant and Deals.mu, the Restaurant voucher shall remain valid and Deals.mu will make every endeavour to rebook the Restaurant Deal at a mutually convenient time within the next 3 months. Where a booking cannot be re-arranged the Restaurant voucher can be used in exchange for products and services up to the face value of the voucher on Deals.mu (subject to voucher expiry and availability of the product or reservation at the restaurant).

Deals.mu cannot be held liable for any travel or fuel costs in relation to a cancellation and Restaurant vouchers that are not rebooked or exchanged [within 3 months from the date the Restaurant deal was cancelled by Deals.mu] for products and service shall be forfeited.

By using our services, as a client, you are agreeing to the Terms of Use and that Deals.mu may charge the late cancellation and missed reservations fees described above to original form of payment done by the client [credit card, bank account, paypal account, juice account or cash].

Cancellation policy for Hotel Overnight Packages

Should a customer wish to cancel his/her hotel reservation, the customer can call on the hotline (+230) 5257575757 up to 17:00.

Please note that the notice of cancellation will only be effective when it is received by E-mail sent to Deals.mu: info@deals.mu [the following refers to working days only: Monday-Friday]

Some hotels may charge a fee for cancellations or no shows. Each hotels in Mauritius maintains its own cancellation policy, so be sure to check the policy when you are making your reservation.

It is the responsibility of you the customer to be informed on the applicable cancellation policy by the hotel relevant to your booking, making sure you are aware to these cancellation condition charged by the hotel.

The cancellation charges to be charged by Deals.mu for any cancellation of your hotel overnight stay are as per the cancellation policy of the hotel.

As our customer and for your better understanding, we do encourage that you would make sure to request either from Deals.mu or directly from the hotel to send you their exact cancellation policy.
