- A valid Mauritian National Identity Card or resident permit should be presented upon arrival
- This Package is non refundable. For no shows a 100% cancellation fee will apply. No refund will be given.
- Reservation: Required 1 week in advance by phone & subject to availability
- It is requested that you confirm availability prior to booking
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE BAKING CLASS
- The class is offered only once per month i.e on Saturday or Sunday. Once booked, you will be informed about the chosen cake by the Chef
- All participants will prepare only one cake during their baking class
- A minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 12 participants is required for the class
- Participants must clean up their work station before and after the cooking class

Does baking at home sound difficult? Or maybe you’re looking to improve your skills or learn a new cake? Look no further, Deals.mu brings to you the perfect package with a Baking Class hosted by Shakinah Ramjane.
Get ready to bake and create wonderful cakes that will impress your family and friends. This is the perfect class for you to learn baking or to take your baking skills to the next level. Whether you’re a complete beginner or you’ve been baking for a while, this Baking Class is for anyone. You’ll be making the cakes from scratch under the guidance of Shakinah.
As part of the package you will get the chance to learn any or if you choose to attend all classes, then all 4 cake options - Red velvet cake, Rasmalai Cake, Fruit Tart and/or Almond Cake with Barfi Icing. Ingredients are already included in the price and classes are held over the weekend, so you can attend at your convenience.
Before the baking class, you will already be notified of the cake that the Chef has chosen. And during the class, Shakinah will give you as much assistance as possible to make the outcome great.
Don’t hesitate to bring along your family and friends, so you can share the learning experience !

About Shakinah Ramjane
Shakinah has always been passionate about cooking and used to spend a lot of her time as a child in the kitchen with her mother. Her hobbies would include preparing snacks for her relatives and learning a great deal of cooking and recipes from her late grandmother.
Her passion for cooking led her to study Food and Nutrition during her secondary school years (SC and HSC Level). Not one to shy away from extra curricular activities, she was always present at any opportunity to try and learn more about cooking and baking. She pursued further studies in the Education field while studying more about food with classes at MIE and is now employed as a Home Economics teacher.
A fan of Italian, Chinese and Mauritian food, Shakinah also enjoys adding her own personal touch to the meals that she prepares with seasonal ingredients. She encourages healthy food and always tries to modify recipes to be healthier - such as her Briyani recipe without ghee. She will also share with you some delicious, easy and quick recipes concocted around the world.You will have the chance to learn how to plan ahead, shop smart, save time, save money, master new skills and whip up new recipes whenever you need inspiration or advice in the kitchen.
