Nativ Lodge & Spa

Large clean rooms with nice private pool. Good food and very friendly staff. Drinks were cheap at the bar too. Had a fab lunch of fresh fish on our last day. The setting is what makes it. Next to a river which is very peaceful. (...)paddle boards and kayaks if you want to get on the river and take yourself off. The resort is very near Blue Bay which is a wonderful beach and the best snorkelling in Mauritius. Having stayed at many five star hotels on the island I would definitely recommend Nativ Lodge.

The lodge is located right next to the National History Museum. It is surrounded by big trees and on one side by a river. There are lots of birds, lizards and butterflies. At dusk we could watch fruit bats crossing from the mountains to the ocean. From the lodge it is an easy walk to the center (market) and to the ocean. Our room was big, furnished with local furniture and we had our own outside pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we had great meals on site. We should have stayed longer

Beautiful place, very kind and helpful staff (especially Jocelyn). Amazing feeling of being isolated whilst in fact being walking distance to Mahébourg's busy streets. Food is simple but delicious - don't expect to order anything from the menu, just go with whatever is fresh and available that evening. They happily accommodate for special diets too. Only thing to be aware of is the mosquitos; the rooms don't properly protect you from them so a spray is essential as they are abundant due to the proximity to the river. Overall, excellent value for money.

The place is amazing. Our lodge, small and cosy, had its own private plunge pool, the decor was lovely and very relaxing. You spend most of your time chilling in the huge garden, opened on a nice and calm river. The food there is very good (as long as you don't go for the typical mauritian dish), espacially breakfast and the very nice crepes with chocolate and coconut !
